About Our Riding School
Top Rail Stables offers a variety of lesson options to include riders of all levels. We welcome new riders with no horse experience, mature riders returning from a hiatus and seasoned riders looking to advance their skills. Partboard, lease and showing options are available to all students who are looking to ride multiple times per week.
We strive to be as flexible as possible to accommodate our rider’s schedules by offering weekday and weekend lessons. Our attached indoor arena and heated barn allow us to operate year-round. Weather permitting, lessons are held outside in our large outdoor arena with ample space for spectators. In the summertime, students can also enjoy a hack around the property to cool out after the lesson. The viewing room is climate controlled with heat, air conditioning and a fireplace allowing parents a comfortable space to watch lessons. Our in barn WIFI allows parents to work remotely while their child rides.

Our Learn to Ride program is recommended to students with little to no previous horse experience. The program includes an introduction to horse handling, safety, grooming, tacking and of course riding! The sessions are one hour in length and the package includes one session per week. TRS provides all the necessary grooming supplies and tack. A selection of certified riding helmets is also available for loan. Students need to arrive in pants and boots with small heels.
Our monthly package of group lessons is our most popular option, which includes one 60 minute lesson per week. Our group riding lessons are offered on weekday evenings and weekend mornings. Group sizes are kept small to allow each student one-on-one instruction and the ability to work through the exercise at their own pace. Lessons are a combination of flatwork and over fences, rider level dependent. It is recommended that students arrive 30 minutes before the start of the lesson to allow time to groom and tack beforehand so the full hour can be spent riding. All grooming supplies and tack is provided. We have a selection of certified riding helmets available for loan. New students are placed in an existing group lesson based on availability and rider level suitability.
Our general partboard package includes two group lessons per week and one practice ride weekly. Please inquire for further information on horse availability. Partboard is encouraged for students who are looking for more time in the saddle, or interested in participating in shows.
